Health Improvement Institute supports its activities by:

• Welcoming volunteers
• Seeking sponsors for specific programs and projects
• Accepting contributions for general support
• Charging nominal activity fees.
  

By policy:

• The Institute accepts unrestricted gifts to support its operations, programs, and Institute-initiated projects. The Institute does not bid on competitive grants nor contracts, and does not accept donations in support of donor-identified projects that are not within the Institute's scope.
• The Institute publishes the name of all organizations and individuals who sponsor programs or projects or contribute financially and who request such recognition.
• The Institute publishes the name of all organizations and individuals who contribute more than $10,000.
