Health Improvement Institute has established expertise in, and programs to, evaluate the quality of health information on the Internet (QHII):

• Aesculapius Awards for excellence in health communications.
• QHII Quality Award, a pilot program to rate the raters.
• Health Website Rating (HWR) project to produce independent ratings of health information websites (with Consumer Reports WebWatch).
• 1997 workshop
• 2007 follow on workshop on the quality of health information on the Internet.
