Improving people's health and well-being requires sound, ethical research. Human research protection is an important, often unheralded, aspect of the research enterprise. Public trust in such protection is vital to encourage people to volunteer to participate in research. Research institutions and investigators are subject to a myriad of regulations. The awards program provides a positive incentive to promote excellence in research. Organizations that sponsor the awards program will be recognized as promoting the conduct of sound, ethical research, the improvement in the research enterprise, and the well-being of people who participate in research.

Health Improvement Institute has established the following levels, and corresponding benefits, of sponsorship:

Champion— at least $250,000 or at least $100,000 per year for a minimum of 3 years

• Recognition as an underwriter of the awards program
• Right to be featured as the sponsor of an event (e.g., awards dinner)
• Cooperative marketing program, including use of Institute/awards program logo in sponsor's marketing materials for duration of sponsorship
• Use of Institute/awards program logo in sponsor's marketing materials for current and next calendar years
• Access to the Institute's resources, including, for example, speaking engagements by national and international award winners
• Prominent mention (including display of logo) in all awards program publications, on web site, etc during the current and next 4 calendar years
• 8 tickets to awards ceremony/dinner (if held).
  

Patron— at least $100,000

• Prominent mention (including display of logo) in all awards program publications, on web site, etc during the current and next 2 calendar years
• 8 tickets to awards ceremony/dinner (if held).
  

Benefactor— at least $25,000

• Prominent mention (including display of logo) in all awards program publications, on web site, etc during the current and next calendar year
• 4 tickets to awards ceremony/dinner (if held).
  

Supporter— at least $ 10,000

• Mention in call for entries and other awards program publications, and on web site during the current and next calendar year
• 2 tickets to awards ceremony/dinner (if held).
  

Contributor — at least $5,000

• Listing in principal publications during the current and next calendar year
• Invitation to awards ceremony/dinner (if held).
  

Friend — amounts less than $5,000

• Listing in principal publications during the current and next calendar year.
