The Institute strives to improve the quality of HIIQA processes and the utility of the resultant information to consumers through the following mechanisms:

• Feedback from the HIIQA Advisory Board, volunteer assessment panels, professionals, and the public regarding:
  • HIIQA scope (inclusion/exclusion) criteria
  • HIIQA standards/guidelines
  • Mechanics of HIIQA processes
• Feedback from awards and ratings organizations and consumers regarding:
  • Utility of HIIQA
  • Need for other mechanisms to improve quality of Internet health information
• Analysis of
  • Extent to which awards and ratings meet HIIQA standards
  • Criteria used by awards/ratings that the Institute has assessed
  • Characteristics of Internet health information sites that have received an award from, or have been rated highly by, an award/rating that meets HIIQA standards.
• Revision of HIIQA processes, including the presentation of results, based on feedback.
